His students are from 5 years to 65 years plus some of them are now became renowned Key board player and professionally doing well in the industry. He is a dedicated soul for our academy and Head Of the Department for instrumental department.
Avijit Basu is one of the most popular names in Bengali music at this time, especially as a researcher, composer, lyricist, music director, music teacher and vocalist. He has presented “Folk Music of Bengal” at Columbia University in New York. His music research and presentation have been acclaimed all over the world. He has also acted in G. Aurobindan’s film “Bastuhara” and Buddhadev Dasgupta’s film “Uttara”. If you want to learn core components of folk he is your single point destination.
Ambarish Bhattacharya is our Head Of The Department for Drama & Acting and he is a renowned Bengali film, web and television actor. He has also starred in many national TVCs along with Mr Amitabh Bachchan. He started his theatre career in the early 2000’s, working with veteran actress Ketaki Dutta and singing theatre songs. He rose to fame with his television debut in the 2007 television show “Raja & Goja: Bindas Moja” and has been part of several Bengali films, tv and web projects ever since. Ambarish started his career in films in the year 2011 and in a span of just 11 years; he has featured in so many films till date. His performance as a supporting actor has been lauded in films like “Uma”, “Gotro”, “Crisscross” and many more. Ambarish is an integrated part of our Rag Anurag family with his experience and aura in theater and film.
A renowned Rabindra Sangeet artist. A teacher for the last 40 years. Also vastly educated and a researcher of Rabindra Sangeet and Tagore's lyrics. Writer of so many books on Rabindranath Tagore's song & lyrics. He was an ex lyric official in Vishwabharati's Library department. His presence in our academy is a bleesings for the students.
A very experienced dancer and teacher of Gouriya & Rabindra Nritya. She is the honourable judge in West Bengal State Sangeet Academy. Got her Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Cultural affairs - Govt. of India. She is carrying a huge legacy of the dance form like Gouriya Nritya. Rag Anurag is honoured to have Kaveri ji among us.
Dhriti Chatterjee is a performer, trainer, vocal coach working in various capacities of imparting vocal music training. She has taught in a number of schools, free-lanced and also worked in corporate as a groomer. Dhriti Chatterjee is currently under the tutelage of Vidushi Pundit Padmashree Shubha Mudghalji. She has received taalim in Vishnupore gharana under the tutelage of Acharya Jayanta Bose from a very early age. She has received/has been receiving taalim from Vidushi Suhasini Koratkarji, Bhendibajaar gharana, Vidushi Padma Talwalkarji, Jaipore Atrauli gharana. We are privileged to have Dhriti ji in our academy
Having teaching experience for last 25 years in Art & Crafts. She carries profound knowledge is all form of arts, like Drawing, Painting, Murals, Graffiti, Doodles, Glass painting, Fabric on cloths etc.Earlier associated with different schools and handled all sorts of age groups ( 3 years onwards). Along with her domestic students she is also having students in abroad (online) and teaching them very successfully for last 2 years. She is our faculty for Art & Crafts department with some very colourful personality.
Mrs. Som carrying more than a decade of teaching experience in Dance. Disciple of Smt. Shweta Garg ji & Shri Ashimbabdhu Bhattacharya ji. She completed her masters in Kathak from Gandharv & Bhatkhande University, also a master in sociology from Rajasthan University. She is also having profound knowledge in Folk Dance. Director of Anaghaya Centre for Dance & also associated with Upasana Centre for Dance. We are honoured to have her as our Dance faculty, specially in Kathak & Folk Dance.
A renowned tabla player Sri Goutam Chakraborty is the elder son of Late Sunil Chakraborty. Sunil Chakraborty was also very fascinated towards tabla. In this process he became the first ever tabla guru of Sri Goutam Chakraborty as well. Sri Goutam Chakraborty is also a former employee of All India Radio and a graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan and a renowned teacher for last 4 decades. We are delighted to have him in our academy
